The Remainders are rocking their way to the top

Dave Barry, Ridley Pearson, Stephen King, Scott Turow, Amy Tan, James McBride, Mitch Albom, Roy Blount, Jr., Matt Groening, Kathi Kamen Goldmark and, Greg Iles make up the rock bottom crew. Comprehensively they have published over 150 titles, which have been translated in over 25 languages - and have sold over 200 million books!

So who are these guys?

Founded by Kathi some time ago, "In the fine rock & roll tradition, The Rock Bottom Remainders were conceived in a car." So what do you do when you have a day job publicisizing books around the San Francisco area? The answer. Form a band of authors! In 1992 this group light up the American Booksellers Association convention in Anaheim and were widely acclaimed by several spectators. They received several reviews that raved of the performance, including one in the Washington Post: "the most heavily promoted musical debut since the Monkees." Since then, they have played in several spectacular venues, including one back in Cleveland in 1995 - they played at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

A good cause Goes a long way

The Remainders have performed to raise awareness and money for the America Scores program which was developed to inspire students through soccer. The fruits of their music has helped several children increase their creative writing skills and other academic talents. They have made such an impact on children's lives that several children even attend press conferences by the Remainders and will read poetry. The band has been very proud of the program's success and the lives that it has touched. Listeners really do like the home-hearted feeling that the band gives its listeners and hopes the band doesn't loose sight of this - It doesn't look like the inspiration is going away any time soon!

This groups has been all over the world and through the hearts of many loyal fans - yet they have no record contracts nor any Grammy nominations.
