Washington D.C., September 08, 2005 -- XM Satellite Radio (NASDAQ: XMSR), the nation's leading satellite radio service with more than 4.4 million subscribers, announced today that it will broadcast live the 20th Anniversary Farm Aid Concert on Sunday, September 18 direct from the Tweeter Center in Tinley Park, Ill. Hosted by XM's Jessie Scott, George Taylor Morris and Paul Bachmann, XM's coverage of this historic Farm Aid concert will begin at 12 noon ET on X Country (XM Channel 12) and XM Live (XM Channel 200), featuring artist interviews and complete live performances from the main Farm Aid 2005 stage.

The 20th Anniversary Farm Aid concert line up will feature performances by Farm Aid directors Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Dave Matthews , as well as other celebrated musicians, including Kenny Chesney, Arlo Guthrie, Buddy Guy, Emmylou Harris, Los Lonely Boys, John Mayer, Susan Tedeschi, Widespread Panic and Wilco.

Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp organized the first Farm Aid concert in 1985 to raise awareness about the loss of family farms and to raise funds to keep farm families on their land. Dave Matthews joined the Farm Aid Board of Directors in 2001. Farm Aid has raised more than $27 million to promote a strong and resilient family farm system of agriculture. Through public education and direct grants, Farm Aid supports national, regional and local efforts to build and strengthen family farm food production.

"XM is honored to share the goodwill and great music from the 20th Anniversary Farm Aid concert with XM listeners across the country," said Eric Logan, executive vice president of programming for XM Satellite Radio. "Not only does the annual Farm Aid concert produce unforgettable live music performances, it also increases awareness about the hardships facing family farms and helps generate funds to support America's farmers, including those devastated by Hurricane Katrina through Farm Aid's Family Farm Disaster Fund."

XM is the leader in live music broadcasting. From the start, XM has brought live performances from thousands of artists in the state-of-the-art XM studios to its passionate subscribers.
